Ledger implants. Coldcard entropy bugs. Fake wallet apps.
The lesson isn't 'switch brands.' It's that one device shouldn't decide your fate.
Single-sig + passphrase (or 2-of-2) stops a thief but one lost secret locks you out. 2-of-3 or expanding multisig covers both: one stolen key can't spend, one lost key can't lock you out.
Different vendors, keys generated independently.
