quotingMost Bitcoin community builders are funding events from their own pockets 💰

I recently ran a multiple-choice poll in my Bitcoin Community Leaders group (26 votes), asking: Are you charging for your events, and if so, who pays?
The results tell a clear story:
🔹 61% cover all costs themselves
🔹 23% sell individual tickets
🔹 23% accept voluntary donations
🔹 19% have sponsors
🔹 11% receive grants
🔹 7% use memberships
The takeaway? For the vast majority, building community isn't a revenue pla: it's an investment. Organizers are putting their own resources on the line to create spaces where real connections happen.
But the most successful leaders diversify: tickets, sponsors and grants all play a role when done right.
Building a strong community takes more than just passion: it takes creativity, drive and discipline. That's exactly why this group exists.
Want to participate in my next poll and learn how other leaders tackle event economics, growth, and engagement?
