There us no realistic invasion point, no place a landing could be made. Kharg Island is simply a kill box. No ships can successfully transit the Strait. Helicopters would be taken out over the Gulf, long before they could even choose to crash on dry land. Pakistan and Afghanistan will not allow US access. Forget the Caspian. Azerbijian, Iraq and/or Turkey might, but either would sell the coordinates of the American command to Iran for nickels.
Not only is the local population openly hostile, but the terrain is so vertical and undeveloped that progress from the entry point to any place of any importance is not really possible under fire.
