For what it's worth, we rarely mind geopolitical realities when they mean we can have access to things a lot cheaper than at their average cost around the world, or when we can have careers pushing around spreadsheets pertaining to how much we're going to allocate people to pay to operate mines to get us that stuff.
It's just when those networks suddenly break down we feel like suddenly we're under attack.
It would perhaps be nice to just say that I've got a plot of land and my food is produced on it using water that falls out of the sky or comes up from a well and that my fuel is from the trees I sustainably tend to and that my healthcare is provided by my family who I in turn provide with shelter and food but of course this isn't true even for the most sovereign among us.
Nobody gets to hold themselves outside of geopolitical realities.
