Thanks for your answer! Sorry to hear that fungus creates mucus in your body. It became clear to me eventually that all people are different with many different preferences, and it's easier than before for me to respect and appreciate these differences.
My body thrives with fungus as a food, not just nutritionally, but also cognitively, and in terms of immunity. Penicillin comes from a fungus and it protects us the same way it protects the fungus from which its derived. The nature of fungus is such that has a barrier against nature only one cell wall thick and it needs powerful defensive compounds to protect itself from bacterial infection, parasitism, and viral loads. That's good for my body when I eat those compounds naturally present in those fruiting bodies.
By the way is there such thing as a fruit that DOESN'T come from a flower? My favorite fruit is blueberry, from a perennial plant that grows year after year under my care in my backyard. Fruit is really wonderful, in my opinion.
Fruit depends on fungus for survival though, and the fruit also depends on bees for pollination, bees which are threatened lately.
But an innovative mycologist discovered that some bees are drinking the liquids exuded from mushrooms and this liquid is like a natural antibiotic for the bees, helping their immunity and protecting their health, which is good news for flowers and fruits needing pollination to reproduce.
Mushrooms are magic! They don't merely detox the Earth, they literally transform the toxins into something non-toxic and beneficial. They are better chemists than humans are at this point. Like magic, but it's science
