Funjy thing though is that when the nazis dealed with resistence by civilians, they executed innocent civilians massively and randomly, with the excuse that civilians are not allowed to fight. So according to their own doctrine they should have been obliterated. The soviets in particular, had every right according to nazis, to wipe out everyone in Germany, but they didn't.
