The NFL bit is where shit will get interesting. NFL wants league-licensed sports betting only on NFL games. Kalshi has avoided gambling regulation in every state by declaring that they offer securities which are federally regulated by the SEC. NFL isn't going to accept that excuse and has some pretty high priced lawyers to argue otherwise. Kalshi is already fighting a legal battle against multiple state governments over this distinction, so they can't knuckle under with the NFL's demands and allow their contracts on sports matches to be classified as betting. They can either drop support for events on NFL games or they can fight the NFL in court and try to win.
