use and try out EVERY nostr client if you have the time, and zap the devs of ones you like. jumble is good. I am using @Nostrich atm and they are very responsive to UI suggestions, because I'm mainly on the web and lots of the others took too many computer resources (or at least used to). when I first found nostr for instance primal web was just a black screen on my computer. there are so many options now you can drop a client on a whim such as you don't like their emoji packs 🤷
if you publish a relay list it will go with you to any new app. I think maybe in the begenning without causing yourself too many headaches, publishing to many relays will be an easier solution than setting up your own relay. then using the republish tool periodically
