Another benefit of keeping your own chickens is reducing food waste. There's always that half-portion of leftovers that gets forgotten in the back of the fridge. I'd feel bad throwing it out but I never feel bad about giving it to the chickens. They love getting leftover human food and it gets recycled into fresh eggs!
