Flourishing Bitter Root
A seed planted long ago
Nurtured, watered, ever so.
Roots begin to take their hold
Nourished by harsh things told.
Watered by a scornful tongue
A seedlings life has begun.
Growth and beauty nonetheless
A flower blossoms like the rest.
From the garden none may know
Strong bitter roots feed down below.
Though bitter, do not despair
The bitter root can heal with care
No man or gardner will suffice
Bitter root needs Jesus Christ.
Trusting God' grace is the start
His livinig water cleanse our heart.
Once cleansed, our heart can forgive
Flourishing, the flower shall live
