Fair enough, but even if that is true, it comes after decades of bootstrapping by cash rich entity getting things off the ground. And there is always new things that needs bootstrapping.

Even Nostr owes most of its limited success to funding from such entities.

So yes one should try to be self reliant, but it is not feasible for everything... The very internet needed some centralized bootstrapping, and almost every protocol on it.
