Feelings have a purpose and I've got a different way of guiding the emotions and God never said they mislead he said do not sin with them. And don't go to sleep angry. I will give you an example of the way I see emotions let's say Envy = Freedom or Recognition , you see a freedom in them and have a desire for your own type of recognition not theirs it's yours. So, you pause before taking any action and ask where do I feel I am lacking my own freedom say your envying their creativity that would mean your wanting your own creative freedom and recognition for your own creativity not theirs.
