I'm still deliberating on this. I thought it made sense when I added it. But hzrd149 (npub1ye5…knpr) made a very good point that AUTH inextricably links your IP address to your pubkey as a user. Normal Nostr queries don't do that. So it's a difficult choice. AUTH is arguably worse for privacy.
