6 months ago I listed to a podcast about Vine and its history. It got me thinking, how hard could it be to bring Vine back, but open and on Nostr.
That lead to me building divine.video and announcing it in November. It got tons of attention, and I’ve been working hard to fix my vibe coded prototype in to something which would be usable by mainstream noobies. The Nostr tech and community has been critical to this, I couldn’t have done it without you all.

It’s really good, talks about how divine came to be and really gets in to our movement for open permissionless protocols. They do it in a way that’s not technical or overly jargony.

Deleted my X account. I only created one to pimp my site, selling my soul. The algorithm over there has only gotten worse over time driving engagement with pure rage. Toxic is too good a word for it.

When I came to Nostr, I understood the potential pretty fast. While its about censorship resistance and a simpler online identity, the community on here is actually creating something really big and important. If people ask me if I'm scared to show myself here so openly, I say no. Why? Because I trust. I have to trust. Because how else will we create a more peaceful world if we do not trust in the first place? I really believe in the goodness of humanity. We are all hurt in some way, fighting with our inner child, yearning to be loved and accepted. So I just try to love and accept. I also have my boundaries but I don't want to be unforgiving at all. It's the devil's downspiral. I, for my part, I'm going to step into revolution peacefully. I will show them that Bitcoin and Nostr is not a threat. Its an invitation. I will just show the people how green the grass is on our side, and wait. And for that, I need your daily encouragement. Your good energy. This will bring us forward so fucking much. Never stop fighting. No matter how hard it is. Come here, on Nostr, and fuel yourself with the goodness we create. We are stronger together. 🫂

On #Nostr, liking something is a light, almost decorative gesture. I overuse it myself, but honestly, it doesn't really change anything.
It doesn't build memory, it doesn't spread an idea, it doesn't leave a trace over time.
Reposts, on the other hand, are hands that take content and put it back on the road.
That's where Nostr breathes: the network doesn't reward you because you're liked, but because you circulate.
If no one reposts, even the truest thing remains silent.
And then there are zaps.
They don't lie. They are value expressed without metaphors, attention that becomes cost, time that becomes choice.
A zap says: this is valuable to me.
It is not consent, it is responsibility.
Here in lies the difference, stark and somewhat uncomfortable:
on other social networks, a like is a cheap caress;
on Nostr, only actions that risk something count.
That is why likes are of little use.
They are background noise, useful perhaps to the ego, but not to the protocol.
If we want to make an impact, we must share or support.
The rest is silence disguised as applause.
Saying this is not cynical.
It is simply seeing Nostr for what it is:
not a place to be approved, but a place to circulate value.

Hello world!
This is my first post on freedom web.
I’m not a developer. I’m a normie who likes digital stuff but I have to say, I’m getting obsessed with the idea of freedom tech.
My reasons are simple: as I grew up the internet changed in a bad way imo. I realized as a teenager that I hate Google, and that there’s no alternative. I felt trapped. And that was it. With no IT background, I went down the rabbithole. DeGoogling phones, linux, proton mail, f-droid etc… you name it. (Recently I even started a homelab project to self host Nextcloud but after months of trial end error without IT background I gave up and went on the Google/Notion route… I will return though and try harder)
I was very interested in crypto in the early years, but had no money and didn’t understand it fully at the time.
Fast forward to today, I had the chance to learn DeFi through a platform and decided to learn more about bitcoin again. The more I learned the more I became a maxi. And after tens of hours of podcasts and content, I ended up here.
Because of Nostr and Bitcoin and the AMAZING peaople behind them, I have hope again. I feel like I can smell the fresh air of freedom again.
