they did scummy things with BAT. if you tried to use their BAT integration to donate to a person who had not signed up to receive BAT tips, brave would just pocket it. later on brave was caught sneaking their own referral code onto several URLs including binance and coinbase. then they got caught installing a wireguard client on windows that was configured to run at startup without asking user permission. they are very forward thinking and that deserves to be recognized but they are unscrupulous.
