To celebrate Giuseppe Verdi's birthday (born 1813*), I gave it some thought about what to choose, but it's so hard in his case. My top pick right now is "Va, pensiero" from Nabucco, specifically from the Metropolitan Opera's 2001 production. *It's unclear if he was born on the 9th or the 10th of October, but my understanding is that most people go with the 10th.
