Man, it sucks. I feel like the first half of my career was fighting big software -- like "fuck Microsoft and Oracle, I'm bringing in Linux and Python and cool open source products to work and we'll change the culture here!"

And now several years later my work still uses Microsoft and Oracle, plus MS now owns github and all the open source code got ingestedd into the grinder and all these billionaires made more billions on the back of open source stuff and now open source somehow is expected to be production enterprise grade.

We should have never brought our toys to work, yall -- Now my policy is work computering and home computering are distinctly and intentionally very different computering.
