MistTrack, a blockchain analytics platform by SlowMist, has revealed that the perpetrator behind the recent Bitget security incident attempted to launder stolen funds through the cross-chain decentralized exchange protocol Chainflip. The attempt was thwarted when the associated brokers directly refused the deposit. On-chain data indicates that the funds were not frozen by the protocol but were instead returned to the origin address, preventing the attacker from successfully utilizing the channel for illicit financial activities. MistTrack stated that it will continue to monitor the subsequent on-chain movements of the stolen assets.
