God has the power to save everyone, so clearly His plan to redeem only a relative few reveals that His desire is not to spare everyone from His justice which is perfectly glorified in hell.

Instead, God would *like* for man to freely accept the Gospel call which has gone out to all, but man freely rejects it, in which case God will have the good pleasure of condemning them with His wrath, to the rejoicing of the heavenly host and the saints in heaven.

God universally offers Christ, man universally rejects Him, and then God grants a relative few a new nature entirely, so that they accept Christ and are redeemed to God.

All of these things please the Father: the redemption of wicked sinners unto His Son, and the restoration of His reputation as sinners are condemned to hell by their own doing.
