Went to get a sandwich on my lunch break & my card declines.
Immediately pulled up to the closest bank branch & started fucking off everyone in the lobby.
Bank manager pulls me aside into his office: "I'm sorry sir, but you need to fill out these forms before we can unblock your accounts".
Me: "ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! I'VE BEEN WITH THIS BANK FOR XX YEARS & YOU ARE FUCKING WITH MY ACTUAL ABILITY TO EAT RIGHT NOW!"
Manager: "I understand sir, but…"
Me: "NO. You DON'T understand. Close my account & give me my fucking money right now or you're going to have an unscheduled bank holiday tomorrow."
Manager: "Now sir, I understand you're frustrated, but…"
Me: "YOU ARE FORCING ME TO SIGN SOME SHIT UNDER DURESS BY WITHOLDING THE MONEY THAT I KEEP HERE & I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT. YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY ROBBING ME RIGHT NOW. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE BEING ROBBED OF YOUR LIFE SAVINGS?!"
Manager: "OK, look sir, I can make you a compromise. I need to have those forms signed in order to keep your account current, but I can unrestrict your account for 24 hours so that you can at least have some time to go over them & get anything you might…"
Me: "Do that. NOW."
*about 50 keystrokes later in awkward silence*
Manager: "OK sir, I've gone ahead and…"
Me: "I don't have time for this shit. I need to go get lunch & go back to work so I don't get fired because of you people. I'll be back tomorrow & my card better fucking work by the time I get to the store."
Later that evening after 5-6 hours of research & studying, I signed up for an exchange, smash bought #Bitcoin with the entire balance I had in the bank, withdrew it to self-custody & never looked back.
Best fucking day of my life. 🤙
