I got a seedsigner recently and used it to make a child seed for a family member. I backed up the seed in steel and gave it to them. I said to them "this is like a key to your house, it's a key to your bitcoin wallet, no one knows it but you". This way, I can export their xpub to their phone so they can see and recieve BTC. It's a starting point. They hold their physical keys and now have a doorway to sound digital money. When they're ready, they can get a bitcoin/lightning wallet for spending and making transactions. That'd be step two.
