So I decided to begin a project. I'm going to take a couple harbor freight hatchets and improve them as gifts for a couple guys. Cooler weather is coming (if ever so slowly) and every man needs a hatchet for splitting kindling/firepit/chiminea logs.
I figure they're cheap enough they'll get used as the beaters they're intended to be, but with a little work they can be greatly improved, to look and function much nicer.
