I had a similar implementation client side in a patched Semaphore version, until I realized the boost and fav counts were local-server only. I think I fetched 100 posts at a time and sorted each patch before inserting them to the view at the top.. So it was sorta-kinda-live. But, that fork died as Semaphore itself went unmaintained and I moved to Phanpy.
