I probably pay 30-40% more to purchase beef products that are raised and processed within 10 miles of my residence. The way I look at it is that extra amount spent is directly investing in the success and resilience of the local food economy while strengthening community ties.
All of this to say that we all know that there is increasing uncertainty in what tomorrow may bring so keep it local.
Know your farmers and ranchers - their success is your success. Strong local food economies build strong communities which in turn strengthens the nation as a whole.
