In today’s political climate I think about my maternal grandmother, an ethnic German who grew up near the Austria-Vienna border pre WW2. Fully bought into class heirarchies. Mrs Doctor this and and Mrs. Lawyer that. She only trusted one source of information — the radio in her kitchen. Even then, only if she agreed with what it said.
There are millions of folks like that. The struggle is real.
