i feel like having a scary monster chase is retarded and missing the point because you can have a entire horror movie where the threat is purely environmental like Cube or Curve (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dD3Fawk4y0) stuff like claustrophobia or heights or malevolent architecture is enough we don't need the animatronic pirate
