I think you romanticized one and degrade the other. Workers have been propagandized into believing the “boss” takes all the risk and their job is too hard. But, in actuality, worker cooperatives function very well by letting the natural strengths of each individual spread the work load to those most capable.
Not only that you can have collective collateral or, even better, grants!
The worker is the one actually risking something by trusting one person to not make a decision that losses their job all the while sacrificing their body and time to have no control over said decisions.
