There’s nothing wrong with asking a politician to not victimize you (ie voting against such a policy).
But no one should have their ‘voice heard’ in voting when their vote is asking for the victimization of their neighbors (ie asking for a person to rule their neighbors, a “tax,” any issue to forcibly control property that doesn’t belong to you, etc)
