Given that there's only 1 remaining show of the season, it's time to name my favorite/best show of the Anime summer season.

For the best show of the season, the praise goes to "Seihantai na Kimi to Boku S2". In the past I've tried to separate sequels from new shows because maybe people don't have the time to invest in a show to appreciate its second installment. But this new season was too good, I'll even say better than the first one that I broke my own rule.

We are in a show that breaks the conventional rules of rom-com (no confessions, long misunderstandings, fake cheating, etc), we have three different couples that are at different stages of a relationship (or not even in one yet) and every single one of them are given the time to breathe and develop as naturally as possible.

One of the strongest arguments I have for this show is that it knows how to portray the ingenuity and naivete of young love without making it dumb or obnoxious. We have disagreements, misunderstandings and other troubles that affect our characters but it doesn't treat them as idiots and they can deal with these issues in satisfying ways.

The art direction is impeccable, like every episode is a marvel of what Animation can bring to elevate a story. It never feels dull, it is as vibrant as the personalities of the characters.

Do yourself a favor and watch both seasons "Seihantai na Kimi to Boku", you won't regret it.
