Coinbase publishes article proposing a technical roadmap for Bitcoin's post-quantum security transition.
"Coinbase believes that Bitcoin will continue to be the most trusted cryptocurrency in a post-quantum world."
The company is pushing for quantum-resistant signatures, hybrid spending paths, and a migration plan for the estimated 6.7 to 7 million BTC held behind keys already exposed onchain.
"Some questions, including how to handle abandoned or inaccessible coins, are difficult and deserve thoughtful debate. In our view, that discussion can continue alongside the technical work to add post-quantum signature support to Bitcoin."
