A friend and righteous of God through belief in Jesus Christ is distinct from a sinner.

Therefore, a friend of God cannot be a sinner.
Identity doesn't come through action, but by believing what God said.

Which means if a friend of God sins, it's against their identity not with their God given identity. So action is not identity. Belief in what God did and said creates new identity, as righteous and friend and child of God. If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Actions come from identity, not for identity. Belief in God causes identificational shift, not actions.
