I've removed all the events from the database that are from pubkeys without profiles -- cut the database size in half (that's how much junk there was). I've also blocked new events from pubkeys without a profile *except* (of course) for profile creation events (kind 0). So until a person creates a profile none of what they do will go into the NostrGram cache server or be visible to its users. The Global feed is back to being a joy to scroll through, for now.
Spammers will figure it out, and new measures will have to be taken. The ultimate solution imo is pay-to-write relays. Once all the relays require even a small payment, the spam will virtually disappear. That plus blocks (which NostrGram already has) will handle the spam problem about as well as it can be I think.
