Email is basically becoming a surveillance product with a send button.
So we added Signal and Nostr DM delivery for gift card codes.
Pay in sats, get your codes in a DM, and let Google wonder where you went.
Both are in beta. 🟧

Developers need room to build. Innovation depends on it.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada! 🍁

October: their own X account is telling people to "migrate" straight into a phishing site.

Carrefour and Kruidvat in Belgium are selling bitcoin gift cards now.
You pay €25 and end up with about €21 in BTC, and you still have to upload your passport to redeem it.
If you'd rather not give a supermarket your ID, buy peer to peer like a normal degenerate. 🟧

The Canadian government freezes bank accounts of truckers and in our experience is too stupid to chase anything Bitcoin.
The US government is the one locking up developers for writing code.

In light of the @BtcpayServer
concerns, we have updated to the latest version.
We've also cycled some of our wallets and are now using full segwit addresses for payments.
If you have a wallet that doesn't support segwit payments, it's really just time to update lol.

2026-08-02 18:12:15 UTC

We want to clear up a bit of confusion.
@CoinCards and Coldcard/Coinkite are separate companies.
We have used the name Coincards longer than the coldcard has been around.
When coldcard was created, we asked NVK to reconsider the name. He laughed it off "it's not even close".
With all that's going on, the name is often being used interchangeably on social media. We are also getting support requests to our site for Coinkite products.
To everyone affected by the situation, we're genuinely sorry you're having to deal with it. As fellow Bitcoiners, we know how stressful anything involving your savings or self-custody can be, and we hope everyone is able to get everything sorted safely.
Wishing everyone the best. ❤️
