it is so sad to see that AI-using people don't even respond to my (critical) questions anymore. Over the past months I've asked several people I know on LinkedIn how they deal with the ethical and environmental issues regarding AI, after they posted some praise for AI. An honest question that I'm really curious how such very pro-AI people deal with. Sometimes I get a "like", but no response. And sometimes I don't even get a "like". I am just completely ignored.

OK, Bibi, pick one.
1. The film is libelous
2. The interviewees can be prosecuted for serious information security offences
You can't have both, can you? Either the information is false, or the information is true.

I just fixed a production issue by replacing a bunch of magic by code that actually does what it needs to do.
I love the magic that frameworks offer me. But sometimes, it's just better to be explicit about what needs to happen.

Yesterday I thought of the victims of October 7, 2023. That was a personal drama for all involved.
Then I thought of the victims of the Nakba, and all the terroristic horrors the zionist entity caused in Palestine. Which is a lot more than just personal drama. It is a slow genocide.
Then I thought of the victims of the "defensive measures" of the zionist entity since October 7, 2023. That's not even a slow genocide. It's a regular genocide. As far as genocide can be called "regular".

LinkedIn's reporting and appeal system seems to be mostly a farce. You can report, but you can not even explain why you report something. The report was rejected within a matter of minutes (AI only checking for basic stuff?). I have no appealed the decision, but again no way of explaining WHY.
And all this because someone called my wife and company anti-semitic. Which is misinformation if there ever was misinformation.

Observation: #ElementaryOS presents itself as an Apple-like Linux distro. Which I can see why. However, there's so many minor details/nuisances that will put off people actually transitioning from MacOS that I do think 2026 is again not the year of linux on the desktop.

OK, #linux peeps, here's a very specific question:
On Windows, I always used MusicBee for playing radio streams and my own locally stored music. I had it set up to scrobble to last.fm
I can not seem to find a good alternative for Linux. VLC is supposed to do it, but it doesn't (at least not for radio streams). Most other apps are either just for local music, or just for radio streams.
Does anyone have the golden idea?

@nprofile…hz6s @nprofile…3qpl I am really struggling with that one at the moment. My current stance is that I can not control everything. My favorite tools (PHPStorm, Symfony, Proton, etc) all use AI one way or the other. But I can not control their AI use, and I don't have good alternatives. So at this point, I focus on the things that I _can_ control.
But this stance may change in the future.
