Correction: poster chan plays it with no issue. Amethyst displays it like it would play, but then fails when you actually push the play button. https://blossom.ditto.pub/c5f3154490c614b8095ae220827a3fe798fccc27c6264bace9a1a2020ef7c4c5.mp4

I'm mostly doing a lot of it by vibes, so I am certain I have been subconsciously gravitating towards certain standard patterns for the music, especially considering how much of it is freestyled.

I didn't actually pull out a synth or piano to check my sound ratios before. Now I am curious to throw an AI at my reporitoire and see if the 4th drop is my standard pattern for bass notes or not.

So, it is a kind 22 short with a text description. Apparently some clients aren't supporting the kind 22 embed and, therefore, only showing the text as a kind 1 post.
I think this confirms why this channel isn't being discovered. If most of my content is going out as descriptions of videos that no one sees, of course people aren't interested.

Non-amethyst users apparently can't see the video. Not sure why the disconnect.

(Reposting because it seems the audio was broken the first time)
This is only the first verse, but my loop pedal broke shortly after finishing this. This is an original song called "Away from Home" and it was written during what I think was the darkest period of my life.
2 full-time jobs, basically never seeing my kids for more than 30 minutes a day before they sleep 5 days a week, too exhausted to do anything with them during the other two days.
When I had a moment to think about my circumstance, this is what came to mind:
Home, Away from home
wearing on my weary soul
to reach the place
where I'll find peace
as they make sure
I'll never reach
So I must march with only memories
of laughter in my mind
'cause their machinations are designed
to drain me of my time
and my life
which they claim to own
so I'm still not home
(the other lyrics, not in the recording but to the same melody)
A land with grass
as far as I can gaze
where all my food
can freely graze
where I'll raise kids
who'll never need
to be unsure
of when they'll feed
but they want us to be reliant
'cause their power all relies
on us not being able to ensure
our needs for our own lives
so they restrict
what we can grow
so I'm still not home
Well I want kids
it's my destiny
it's why they'll strip
us of our seed
because a dream
that's all my own
might distract their
prized worker drone
after all, I might want to give my
family more of my time
but that would mean I'm less available
to slave away for dimes
so they restrict
whose seed can sow
so I'm still not home

2026-09-17 20:42:10 UTC

I think, at this rate, that I am going to be dramatically reducing the number of uploads I put on Normie tube. This morning's upload got 16 views since 10am my time. But it had 168% playthrough... Meaning that it was rewatched by nearly every person that found it, but youtube couldn't be bothered to show it to more people.
I understand that my content is super niche and not everyone's thing. But "people are watching this over and over" should tell the algo to show the video more if you are going to have an algo.
But it doesn't. I'm sick of wasting my breath on them. My only interest in YouTube at this point is pulling them over to nostr.
With that being said, does anyone have a suggestions for a client to advertise on my YouTube videos to pull them over here? #asknostr
My current videos have my @darkwisp qr code, but clearly that was an error because most of them can't even find me by that according to some of the users in my comments. I need a very reliable pipeline to feed them into without proselytizing nostr itself. They just need to login and see videos.

2026-09-15 18:58:14 UTC

Proton mail is a trap. This is their VPN by the way, the one I've been using for the past few months, just spontaneously locking me out for no reason. Nostr needs a real email system that ACTUALLY works and can converse with the conventional system without a mountain of secondary steps. I'm done with this garbage. https://blossom.primal.net/fab6d6b8ede881f61bb791ca1fab3d0c59e7fb538eacec2b2978c37592bbd4b0.jpg

Sadly, I just have to keep hodling and work at the fiat mines like everyone else. This is a cultural problem where people are not interested in spending on anything less than fully professional grade and so new projects never get the investment to get there. I wrote an article about it.
If anyone is wondering why I haven't had the time to use the studio mic as much in my videos, that's why.
But, on the flip side, BTC/XMR have objective value. The boomer "saving pennies under the mattress" mentality is a vicious lie when applied to fiat, but they got that mentality from their parents from back when money was still backed by gold. And it works when applied to real money like that. I know that I will not lose the value of what I earn here from inflation the same way I would from USD. So there is still a bright side.
But this is why I had to resort to making music I can make in a single take and on the fly. Because you are right: few of us are making enough (I'm not) to justify the deeper investment into the art.
But fiat Normie channels are no better there IMO. I couldn't make a cent on those. Nostr is still objectively better just for that fact.

2026-09-14 03:52:53 UTC

- reply

The problem is that most of the people here don't have that many sats, and I don't blame people for not wanting to invest fiat into it. There is a scaling issue where people are only making a couple of sats for chatting but yet just getting a whole steak just once is a month's worth of zaps for them. I am a musician on here myself, but I also don't think that Nostr is going to solve this issue... I think only the total collapse of the US Dollar (and the transferring of that capitol and infrastructure to BTC or others) is going to solve that issue.
For now I think $20 in sats over a couple of months is the same as a few hundred some day down the road and I don't know if I can expect much better than that. The position in the arts simply sucks right now.

2026-09-13 21:33:49 UTC

- reply

Vector might help you with this issue. I've noticed I've been able to message people on Vector that I cannot message anywhere else. I don't pretend to understand the back end enough to explain why that is.

2026-09-13 21:31:24 UTC

- reply

I guess I could consider myself in that camp. Honestly, what got me hooked here was my first zap. After a few months of grinding on YouTube to meet their minimum cutoffs for monetization (still nowhere close btw, nor will I be in 100 years at this rate... And I notice deliberate algorithmic throttling), I got zapped almost right away on my first few posts here on nostr.
I think that this freedom of association is the main selling point of nostr, and it applies equally to creatives, political dissidents, and more: you can build a community on here and remove the artificial barriers instantly. You might not be rich (I know that my content is pretty niche and not what some people want no matter how good I get), but the lack of boundaries means I can get SOMETHING for my work without asking permission from anyone but my audience.
And that is a powerful message for all sorts of people struggling through artificial barriers of all kinds right now, be they YouTube or their national government.

This is also why it is important for the adults around them to dress properly. They will copy the 16-year-old girls and the 20-year-old women wearing bikinis if those people are wearing bikinis.
This is also why my daughter does not have that problem because my wife wears long ankle legs, dresses almost everywhere. When she does need something more athletically accommodating, like to swim, she still wears something that is still more modest than what a lot of swimwear usually ends up being.
We have never had to have that conversation about modesty with our daughter because she just copies her mom's style of dress.

Hey npub1ht4cvtenrqusa3d0tjwmvjh9mkewlsdf0k65ce2sv44l5twvq49sajqeku i told you I could just write music on the fly. The song idea just hit me while driving, so I placed my phone on my lap and just let it rip.

@nprofile…wywf, is the blossom sync function not working? It shows that I have "no blossom files", which makes no sense because I normally post 5 a week at least. I've never seen this before.

A cool #randombeat focusing on my #polyphonictechnique for #nostr only this morning. I love playing with the chords on this technique.
Anyway, #goodmorning and enjoy the #music https://blossom.ditto.pub/f3818d32de4479e7d0c15c797346d533db53d9e2f03746001ecf13dce939ec46.mp4

Absolutely yes. Usually it's because the bot is looking for an excuse to bypass or force me to turn off my vpn.

When I did this one, my wife was even like "really, put it on the Ritz?"
Yes, #nostr... A #beatbox #music rendition of Put it On the Ritz... It fits better than I thought too. https://blossom.ditto.pub/0bb9abfa1c2e2182c75b2031b3bf1c96790f7d365f140930fda3c195ae2452bc.mp4

Some minor mistakes, but I was just having fun with this #randombeat. #beatboxing is fun once you get a handle on it.
Enjoy the #music #nostr https://blossom.ditto.pub/69c97e950868676fc21dd5f8a0bbc73c846b9f4c88d7c77b31085df33a48cdcc.mp4

Another fun experiment with my special #polyphonictechnique, this time with the beat getting faster and more complex over time.
Enjoy the #beatboxing #music, #nostr https://blossom.ditto.pub/c66b2fae4b904474de84aeb0a8e642859cfad2826ff1e122c327e3fe34e0b285.mp4

Amethyst, wisp/dark wisp, poster chan. I'm not sure which others. Poster chan lets you actually monero zap from the app.

To be fair, Section 4 only works because of stages 1, 2, and 3. If money wasn't a store of value and means of exchange, it would have no mechanism to control.
