future is everyone writing tons of code without even realizing or knowing they’re writing tons of code.

your relationships, your reputation and your ability to think outside the box are the only real edge now. everyone is equal. everyone has access to the same tools.

anthropic and openai want an fda for ai so they can use regulation to entrench themselves and squeeze out open models. that’s what this whole psyop is about. they won’t succeed.

it's gonna be a bumpy q4 for bitcoin and equities in general. equities had a great run through the first three Qs and now risk managers are gonna start protecting those gains. if you can lock in 10%+, that’s a phenomenal year for a lot of asset managers and plus they’d like to keep their 2hr/day jobs. then you’ve got the midterms coming up. the us/iran situation still nowhere near settled and oil is telling you the most honest story on that front.

so let me get this right. an anthropic rat leaves his job complaining we’re all gonna die because of ai. then goes on cnn and parrots the same bullshit. next day his boss dario goes on cnn and repeats the same thing. my question is, if you agree with your fucking boss, why did you leave your job.

ai explains things, i’m reading and reading and reading, wasting so much time. i can’t possibly keep up with this. nobody can. if ai gets smarter and ever decides to act adversarially, it will use this as an advantage. we simply can’t process at the same pace ai does. the gap is already enormous and it’s just the beginning.

2026-09-10 16:11:26 UTC

unplug, wait 10 sec and plug it back’s still the best hot fix. wonder what ai is gonna do about it.

if you think proprietary model developers like anthropic or openai will release their best models to the public, you’re dead wrong. they’ll always keep their strongest models for themselves and use them internally with zero and i mean zero care or obligation to the public good. this is why open models matter. no private or public company should have access to a model more capable than the best open weight model available to everyone.

llms have absolutely zero intrinsic model of spacetime. time enters only as an externally supplied symbol like a timestamp or token order. there is no duration concept or anything close to lorentzian geometry. reasoning about spacetime as an abstract concept is different from experiencing it. but here is the problem. we do not perceive spacetime directly either. what we call the passage of time may be an emergent construction built from memory, biological clocks or prediction at best. the brain continuously compares a remembered state with a present state and anticipates a future one. that creates the subjective sensation of duration and motion through time but not the intrinsic temporal frame itself. so in a way either there is no time to perceive or we’re just primitive biological llms isolated from most of reality, trying to infer its deeper structure from a tiny stream of signals available to us.

nyc 1900 vs 1913. only 13 yrs apart and cars had basically replaced horses in just over a decade. now apply that same rate of change to ai and whatever you’re doing today.

current architecture is really hard to work with. wsn't aware of the complexity until i started building @npub17fe…nzuc. clients can probably hide most of it in the short term but not sure how scalable that is. if end users have to keep dealing with relay fragmentation, inconsistent state and missing events, they’ll eventually give up.

2026-08-27 23:19:13 UTC

- reply

so the problem isn’t really propagation in the traditional sense. it’s retrieval and reconciliation across partially overlapping relay graphs. if clients don’t aggressively process and recover events across relays, ux becomes inconsistent very quickly. nostr can be decentralized underneath but clients still have to make that complexity disappear. if they can't, nostr goes nowhere. its every client's problem and it's a biggy.

2026-08-27 22:08:59 UTC

ux still sucks for new users who have no idea what nostr is

2026-08-20 13:56:49 UTC

- reply

yeah thats probably the best setup today. the problem is the ux around getting there still isn’t obvious especially for new users. client + signer + nwc + wallet is a lot of mental overhead before zapping starts to feel seamless.

2026-08-20 13:47:11 UTC

we center so much of nostr around zaps because they’re one of its strongest value props, yet the experience is unbelievably fragmented across clients. you can switch clients but you rarely keep the same seamless zapping setup. in practice, every client wants to become its own little wallet ecosystem and wants to create its own monopoly, which makes portability much worse than it should be.

short term, chinese models will probably outperform us models on price/performance ratio but the real moat is local models. nvidia, apple and others will keep pushing consumer hardware powerful enough to run really powerful open models locally. i think the future of ai eventually shifts from the cloud to the local device.

2026-08-18 15:35:00 UTC

compute is insanely expensive and chinese models are making it even harder for openai and anthropic to ever become sustainably profitable. my guess is google eventually acquires anthropic since it’s already a major shareholder and openai ultimately gets pushed into some kind of spacex deal. until then both companies can keep tapping public markets, drain liquidity through upcoming ipos but i still don’t see a clear path to durable profitability for either one.

2026-08-17 23:39:16 UTC

when you try to create a god and still believe you can control it, one of two things has to be true: either the god you created isn’t nearly as powerful as you think or you’ve vastly overestimated your ability to control it.
