We solicit applications for two 2026 Otherwise Fellows. Each Fellow receives USD $500. Apply by December 15th.
The #Fellowship program seeks out creators who are striving to complete new works, particularly creators from communities that have been historically underrepresented in the #sciencefiction and #fantasy #genre and those who are working in media other than traditional fiction!

The Otherwise Award fundraising auction at @npub1ysv…ep2z is 23 hours from now! 6 pm PDT, Sunday, Aug 30, online.
Among other things, we’ll be auctioning:
* ARC of Delany’s Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand, marked up by copyeditor and author.
* Rejected cover proof for Delany’s Neveryóna. Very different cover art from published version!
* First edition of Russ’s lesser-known non-sf lesbian short novel On Strike Against God.
…And lots more neat stuff!

Oversized, printed in two colors on 80# Finch, with a full-color dust jacket and four full-color interior plates by Paul Lewin. This went for $600 originally and is now out of print. Donated by Subterranean Press.

6 more days to apply for an Otherwise Fellowship!
Past fellows were glad it "gave me motivation to keep trying again and again" and "provided a validation both for my own work, and also for the idea that this type of writing is both valued and needed".
