I've set up an uncle jim node on my albyhub for my friend, but now I can't find the 4v4 details for his rss feed.
I can see the ID and public key in my albyhub, but need the cutsomkey and customvalue information.
Where do I find this?

Additionally, I spent time and resources helping these very artists make far more money through V4V podcasting and Boostagram Ball Live than they ever did on Spotify and Apple. These are the things I reflect on.

I have a lightning channel that was forced closed 2 months ago, but is still listed as "pending"
There is a closing transaction that has been confirmed, yet it's still pending.
Any help in recovering these funds is appreciated.

Thousand of music makers are doing something different. That's the point.
Touring and selling merch is not any different from 20 years ago.

Interesting New Yorker article on Spotify.
The time has never been more ripe for Music Makers to realize the old way of getting value for your work has been completely captured.
Go direct, ask for Value4Value for your art.
You have nothing to lose at this point.

Amen to that! Also, why are devs still in telegram groups dealing with scammers and fake profiles? Where's the nostr version of this?

on a way podcasting is alsocensorship resistant. We enabled over 70 apps and services to is ethe PodcastIndex, decentralizing away from apples index.

I've never heard of a feed being taken down. But feeds could still benefit from being relayed through nostr.

2024-12-20 04:09:59 UTC

- reply

In your example, the rss podcast namespace payment splits are a requirement, as the current advertising based podcast industrial complex is built on opposing philosophy; namely knowing as much as possible about the end user of the download.
Cracking the code of easy listener on-boarding to lightning thus requires custodial payment solutions that in turn require kyc
This is the conundrum.
Podcast content creators need to monetize, censorship resistance is not important to them.

many valid points. relays though aren't ready for the amount of traffic RSS podcast feeds generate. Also, many relays are ephemeral, so you'd probably wind up hosting it yourself anyway, just on a relay that won't be replicated.
Not saying it won't happen eventually.
Also,we have ipfspodcasting.net that works quite well, inlcuding sharing in boost splits

disagree that RSS does what NOSTR does.
Only some usages overlap. Both have unique features.

there is 20 years of RSS infrastructure that just works. Nostr can bring valuable improvements.
We are extending a hand here. please accept it in the same spirit.

I am convinced RSS and nostr belong together. somehow they got separated at birth
Now that we are moving boosts to lnurlp, the integration is unavoidable.

It hurts the artists, who can easily be approached, I just don't think this is the right strategy.

Agreed. I just don't like the boycotting of WL hosted artists by some music shows. Talk openly and use persuation. Boycotting is counter productive.

Hosting is by its very nature decentralized. Wavlake is part of that. Their feeds work perfectly fineiin all apps.
They just have a crippled app, people won't use it. Spotify spent a billion dollars to find this out.
I don't waste any time on apps that are crippled.
They will change it or fail.
Why waste energy on it?

There's a distinct difference between WL hosting and the WL app.
WL have chosen a path that forces them to do this. So be it.
