very cool, v2.0.0 of @nprofile…q8x8 has moved away from "blockchain messaging" entirely to now only use nostr-based messaging 😃

saw this 12axes test trending on X from unrelated accounts and clearly vibe coded but wasn't expecting a crypto support section at the end at all, and bro followed the "only what matters" options rule: bitcoin+LN, eth and monero, you know he's serious when he didn't just dump a bunch of other crap like solana, litecoin, etc in there lol
always cool when one of us goes viral among the normies out of nowhere like this. Congrats to RomanCypherpunk for getting lots of people looking at this, and keep building things

Yeah the settings are very cluttered nowadays but from the side panel try to find the settings and you have to search for "payment targets" in your language if the app is not in English and that's where you can add it

this would increase the scarcity of Monero, and make it so there is no one able to sell it, making it pump hard and out price bitcoin and make the current monero holders rich LOL (jk ofc)

2026-09-13 14:00:58 UTC

- reply

Yes, the problem is layers and protocols like coinjoins just split devs and users and there's too much to keep track of, and hence there's separate teams and some small in size that end up failing where others weren't even looking, while on monero all devs and all users only have to develop and worry about monero's only code, or separate implementations of the same thing like in rust, which creates room for even more security strategies I.e. differential fuzzing etc

2026-09-13 13:34:54 UTC

- reply

liquid was a "L2", so being lazy about security just because "oh well it's just an L2 anyway" is going to make this keep happening, and affecting those passing by the layers even if "damn you should have moved to L1 in time, shit happens", monero's approach is being aggressive in its security **because** it's an L1 and cannot fail at all, it's not a playground for tech

2026-09-13 13:19:40 UTC

frontier labs treat AI safety by inspiring themselves on banks. so it's not surprising they think progress needs to slow down at some point, just like how banks don't want a too private too anonymous money to exist because it is dangerous, enables crime, enables tax evasion, and we can extrapolate that this will take us into anarcho capitalism and that means everyone will be able to own nukes in their backyard lol. Stop it because "think of the nukes!!" but in reality banks and frontier labs don't want to protect you, they want to control you

for those wondering why Monero is the only thing that has been safe from any AI or super intelligence finding vulnerabilities so far. No inflation bug, no double-spend, no de-anonymization.
Victims so far: lightning (CLN), lightning swaps (boltz), lightning again (BTCPayServer), Liquid Network, COLDCARD, Zcash (inflation bug)
Only real bitcoin, and monero, survived past 2026

2026-09-02 19:48:39 UTC

- reply

yeah, for lightning I'm not sure how can zaps be proven not fake but payments on the blockchain are much easier and only one sides needs to prove it and we all can verify forever

2026-09-02 19:10:54 UTC

- reply

depends what people want, if just tipping it shoud be called tips or something, zap was supposed to be a nostr published event so we all see in the network "Hey look Alice zapped Bob", to support actual zaps it needs something like xmrchat: https://xmrchat.com/xenu , that's for the receiver to prove though but maybe the sender's wallet could also support sending + creating a zap by itself and the receiver only needs the address on the payment target, but the sender needs a specific wallet or all wallets need to support the scheme, so the best way to implement it is the biggest challenge, it doesn't have a L2 and it is not needed but one may happen in a future development so that could copy how lightning works today if used

2026-09-02 18:44:44 UTC

they are still calling it zaps but it just allows seeing the address lol but a cool feature to support

nostr was created by an eCasher heh
nowadays I see more and more people saying how they get more tips in payment targets than lightning, at some point zaps will become a legacy feature and something else has to replace it for tipping signaling, in whatever payment target of choice, or just private tips will be default forever

because they found something no one cared about but that had a strong narrative so pumping it was a no brainer, it was deep down in coin mkt cap, always overshadowed by monero, and the tech was good for this very narrow window, like really they had to take advantage of this little window of time they had from 2025 up to 2027 when zcash had better tech than monero (with the irony that it was broken and had inflation bugs), which will come to an end after fcmp++ hits mainnet and they go back to having nothing special at all, but at least they got rich in the process

2026-08-24 09:57:21 UTC

right now this is the person that needs the best OPSEC ever known to man, better OPSEC even than a DNM admin, and he's using technology to the fullest like we probably have never seen before: issued a memecoin to measure its market cap and create "governance" and even stake voting systems, is using another crypto arweave for decentralized storage, and monero for payments and contacting.
We've never seen this before because people are usually too ideological, i.e. let's just use ethereum for everything, host the website on ethereum, use ens, tornado cash, etc, or let's just be bitcoin/monero maxis, but this guy said fuck it and was like "what if I just use what works" and this may be why this may go down as one of the most successful heists up to november when the game fully launches and he can disappear, kinda ironic for a heist this good against GTA itself, bro is Lester himself

a. nothing changed on bitcoin, and if it still doesn't have privacy by default is it a "what" coin?
b. fake marketing is not the same as a "no difference", if bitcoin was a privacy coin the name privacy coin wouldn't exist and all of them would be, selling a privacy coin as a privacy coin would be like selling water but with the taste of water, but then you can fake market other things like scale, speed, etc
