So if you tell a child you are proud of them, you are giving them a negative emotion? I will have disagree on that one.

Teaching your kids to have guilt and shame for their European ancestry is child abuse https://blossom.primal.net/ad1a2aacf067d403e792501d306a2ad34c3e40ea161e7a9973bcfc7cbc36d6e7.jpg

Notions of political power divorced from conflict are like misallocated investments during a bubble. When the crash happens, we always finds out who actually holds the cards.

Exactly my thoughts. I just wanted someone else to confirm. If you do have it on a metal seed phrase, and want to move abroad, do you send the BTC before going and take the new seed phrase, or memorize/write it down from the metal plate and then destroy/lose it?

2026-08-06 16:19:06 UTC

If you found a seed phrase on the flood
And it was for a wallet with a value of 1BTC
You arguably didn't steal it because you just happened to find it
And you don't know who it belongs to so you can't return it
But if you did transfer it to someone else's wallet, you might be draining someone else's funds - they might have another back up
What would you do?
#asknostr

2026-08-06 16:14:57 UTC

If they can go after the Coldcard thief/hacker and prosecute he/them, then who is to say that the government cant label us terrorists for financially attacking our respective governments?
And use the same methods to come after us?
We have to be careful what we wish for
#asknostr

2026-08-06 16:07:59 UTC

Let's say you have your seed phrase on a metal plate. What would you do in the event that you want to move to another country and take your bitcoin with you? #asknostr

2026-08-05 22:49:40 UTC

2026-08-05 11:27:33 UTC

If someone told you to drive from your local supermarket to where you live without crashing, you could do that easily
However, if they told you that if you crash, you lose your bitcoin forever - and if you don't, you can keep it - then you would probably get really nervous and start overthinking every action
I think randomly generating your private key is similar
It is not difficult from a technical perspective - but once something of high value is at stake - something that you would usually view as easy to do, feels you with dread

2026-08-05 11:10:51 UTC

- reply

Oh no 😳😂😂
#nevent1q…8ppe

2026-08-05 11:09:36 UTC

Being able to correctly generate your own random private key so you can safely store Bitcoin is a valuable life skill
And it is morally good to teach someone how to do this
However, advising or instructing someone on how to hold their BTC is not the same thing - and it is morally dubious at best
