The 20 millionth #bitcoin has now been mined.
Take a second to process that. Over 95% of the total supply is already out in the wild. The final 1 million will take more than a century to trickle out, with the last satoshis expected to be mined around 2140.
Scarcity by design. ₿
While this is a massive milestone to celebrate, it also forces us to look at the long-term horizon. We'd love to hear your theories on a few things as we enter this final issuance phase:
The Fee Market Transition: As the block subsidy continues to ruthlessly halve, miners will eventually have to rely almost entirely on transaction fees. Will Layer 1 demand naturally drive fees high enough to secure the network, or will Layer 2 volume complicate miner profitability?
The Future of Hashrate: What happens to the global hashrate in 20–30 years when the block reward is purely fractional? Does mining eventually become a state-sponsored necessity for sovereign security rather than just a for-profit enterprise?
The Psychological Shift: Does crossing the "only 1M left" barrier actually accelerate institutional FOMO, or is this mathematical milestone completely priced in by the market?
The "True" Supply: We know millions of BTC are lost forever in early, inaccessible wallets. How do you factor the phantom supply into the terminal value of the remaining 1 million coins?
Video credit: Wicked over on X
Are the current incentives perfectly engineered for the next century, or will the network have to adapt?

Markets are testing our resolve. #Bitcoin is down ~50% from the October highs.
In times like these, "Not your keys, not your coins" is only half the story. The other half? "Not your bank, not your safety."
High-risk exchanges always buckle under volatility. If you aren't self-custodying, you need a regulated fortress. Xapo Bank has been navigating these cycles since 2013, bringing the security of a traditional bank to the digital frontier.
How to survive a bear market:
Avoid high-leverage "get rich quick" schemes.
Keep your assets in a regulated, segregated account (or a cold wallet if you trust yourself).
#Bitcoiners focus on accumulation, not just price action.
Play the long game. The bunker is open. 🛡️

The dial says 10. Extreme Fear. 🩸
The tourists are panic-selling, and the fiat timeline is pure chaos. But for us, a 10/100 isn't a warning sign, it's a signal.
Market sentiment is temporary. Absolute scarcity is forever. Let them trade their emotions while #Bitcoiners quietly absorb the supply and lay the groundwork for the 2028 halving.
Turn off the 1-minute charts. Stick to your #DCA. Guard your stack.
Stay humble and keep stacking. ⚡️

Zoom out. The S2F $500k epoch is mathematically on schedule. Stop thinking in fiat. #Bitcoin to 55k?
Look at the chart and take a step back from the daily candles. Every time there is a minor pullback, the crypto tourists and fiat traditionalists come out of the woodwork claiming "this cycle is different."
It’s not. It’s math.
Here is what #PlanB’s updated chart is telling you if you’re actually paying attention:
The #S2F Target is an AVERAGE: Notice that dotted line for the 2024-2028 halving period? It sits at ~$500k. That is the average for the epoch, not the cycle top.
The 200-Week MA is Unbreakable: Look at that solid black line. The 200-week moving average is up only. Realised cost price (the grey line) is trailing right behind it, building the hardest floor in the history of financial assets. (Around $55K)
RSI is Just Warming Up: The colour overlay shows we aren't even flashing cycle-top red yet. We have plenty of room to run.
This chart is exactly why true wealth eventually outgrows a hardware wallet in a desk drawer. At Xapo Bank, we treat Bitcoin like the tier-one global reserve asset it is. We secure our members' wealth with fully regulated, institutional-grade infrastructure and pay yield on their BTC, allowing them to sleep perfectly as the algorithm marches toward half a million.
Will Bitcoin go to 55k? What do you think?
Fiat is melting like an ice cube. The S2F model is the freezer.
Tick tock, next block. 🕰️🔥

Everyone talks about the loud voices in #Bitcoin. But nobody talks about the man who orange-pilled Silicon Valley before it was cool.
Wences Casares is the "#PatientZero" of institutional adoption. He convinced the tech giants. He built the vaults at Xapo. And then? He stepped back.
Real power doesn't need the limelight. The ones who know, know. 🫡

We all know the first rule: Not your keys, not your coins. 🔑
But here is the uncomfortable truth we don't talk about enough: The "Bus Factor."
If you disappear tomorrow, can your spouse actually navigate your Cold wallet, passphrase, and steel plates? Or will your stack become part of the estimated 20% of supply lost forever? 📉
Self-custody is freedom. But being the Single Point of Failure for your family's generational wealth is a liability.
At Xapo, we aren't replacing your keys. We are offering "Collaborative Sovereignty, for your #Bitcoin" A regulated, secure layer to ensure your legacy survives you, even if your seed phrase doesn't.
Diversify your custody. Don't be the bottleneck.

For institutions and high-net-worth individuals, securing #Bitcoin's private keys means moving beyond pure cybersecurity and using real-world, multi-layered physical defence systems.
The extreme logistics, the remote location, the multiple helicopter flights, the strict no-phone policy highlight a profound level of commitment to eliminating every single point of failure.
This is the difference between adequate security and playing a "different game" entirely in the world of high-value Bitcoin custody.

The latest #Bitcoin crash has been rough, especially for anyone with BTC-backed loans.
One thing that helped a lot of our members at Xapo Bank is that we restrict loans to 40% of their Bitcoin’s value – it gives an extra buffer when the market suddenly drops. But even with that, liquidations can still happen if you don’t stay on top of your loan health.
We’ve put together a short, practical breakdown of 5 ways to reduce your liquidation risk (things like how much to borrow, keeping spare BTC aside, and reacting quickly when your Loan-to-Value (#LTV) moves).
If you’re using your Bitcoin as collateral or thinking about it, this might be useful:

Which #bitcoiners should we follow that we may not know about?

2025-11-05 12:06:55 UTC

Hey nostr 👋
We’re #XapoBank. Old-timers will remember us from 2013: #bitcoiners building for bitcoiners, focused on one thing, keep sats safe and make fiat rails behave when needed.
Our ethos:
▪️Bitcoin first, everything else is a rounding error
▪️Security over marketing: mpc key-shares split and geo-distributed; access needs multiple approvals; hardened underground facilities with 24/7 surveillance and armed guards
▪️Conservative risk, plain english, no hype
▪️Self-custody is great, some holders still park part of their stack with a pro for redundancy. we respect both
What we’ll post here:
▪️Lessons from a decade+ safeguarding btc (ops hygiene, key management, failure modes)
▪️Bitcoin + banking realities (policy, settlement, liquidity)
▪️Practical ways long-term holders unlock fiat liquidity without selling sats
▪️Signals from the community, not sales
Thanks for the warm welcome, great to reconnect with so many ogs.
We’re here to listen, share, and keep it orange 🟧
If you have not looked at us in a while then please do @ xapobank.com
Looking forward to connecting with you all!
