Nice, you are experiencing life through young eyes, hehe. First question for me is to establish where you wanna be in those next years of megashifts and turmoil. Then, I think through personal connections is the best way, before resorting to these inhumane, depressive HR processes.

Haha, that's a good way of seeing it.
I'd also love to see if we'll be able to make that necessary shift in consciousness collectively. But I don't really wanna find out what level of pain it requires for us to get there.
Yeah, these technological moves are exciting! Just, I find myself having increasingly less time to explore it thoroughly, because there's this nagging thing of having a living to earn 😉

We walked the trails of German poet Hermann Hesse yesterday here in Lugano. His writings had a big impact on me during my 20s ... towards freedom ;) It's soothing to know that a beautiful, free soul has roamed these lands before.

I signed up for this newsletter of the Krishnamurti Foundation ... 365 days curated, synthesising quotes by J. Krishnamurti in my inbox. Today's quote is particularly "Note"worthy ;) An aspect that's hardly considered let alone understood:
"As long as we are trying to achieve a psychological result, as long as we want inward security, there must be a contradiction in our lives. I do not think most of us are aware of this contradiction, or if we are, we do not see its real significance. On the contrary, contradiction gives us an impetus to live; the very element of friction makes us feel that we are alive. The effort, the struggle of contradiction, gives us a sense of vitality. That is why we love wars, that is why we enjoy the battle of frustrations. So long as there is the desire to achieve a result, which is the desire to be psychologically secure, there must be a contradiction; and where there is contradiction, there cannot be a quiet mind. Quietness of mind is essential to understand the whole significance of life."

Whisper is good, yes. But apparently that Parakeet model outperforms it. I hardly have to do any editing after my voice-to-speech input.
And indeed that thumb-key is a peculiar one. Great if it works for you, one-handed typing is nice!!

I see. Since mnemonic generation was the weak point recently it's good to watch out ;) And for Spark, yeah fully agree, it's anyway best not to have enormous amounts in your Lightning wallet. I like to see Bitbox move forward. So many gave up with their Lightning offer (Relai etc). Let's see!

2026-09-19 10:31:56 UTC

I tinkered with a free and open source keyboard setup on Android recently and by far the best option I found is 'HeliBoard' (on F-Droid). Amazing customization, looks great, and you can tweak auto-suggestions and corrections to your heart's desire.
It also goes well alongside an app called 'Offline Speech Input' (on Playstore/Aurora) which gives you astonishingly accurate and fast speech transcription input system wide. Everything happens locally with this Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 model.
This setup doesn't only replace Gboard and Google voice input for privacy. I think it makes it miles better.
Something to try ;)

Mmhh, I can only say this is based on ny own experience and the consequences that naturally come with it. There are places and countries in the world that walk more towards freedom. Up to us to choose what world we want to live in.

There are countries in the world that practice consistent self-sabotage over at least the last ~10 years. I happened to live in two of them: Greece and Germany. I heard of others as well, and the UK seems to be part of that club, too.
For Greece 🇬🇷
- Crippling small and medium businesses with over-burdening regulation, taxes and social security, without meaningful benefit in return.
- Small and medium scale farming doesn't make economic sense. Farmers only do it for fun or are forced into non-organic mono-culture practices. They are being made dependent on intentional EU subsidies. While the EU is gracefully talking about protecting biodiversity etc.
- Land-owner rights are put into question for years stifling any meaningful investment.
- Public infrastructure is sold to foreign investors, even the most important industry of all, Greek tourism and cultural heritage.
- It's a guinea pig country for centralized administration and CBDC regulations in Europe, cash payments are already restricted to a few hundred EUR ... the list goes on.
For Gernany 🇩🇪
- Energy, economic and environmental policies are highly moralistic, but make little to no sense in practice, to the detriment of what the German industry and culture used to stand for.
- War monger wolves in sheep skin making German foreign policy, for the "common global good".
- German press is bathing in intellectual self-righteousness, while oblivious to the obvious demise.
For the UK 🇬🇧
- Eroding formerly sacred human rights such as free speech.
- Tax and finance regulations drive wealth out of the country. All going mostly unnoticed by the general population who's eagerly looking for scapegoats left and right.
There's more in other countries, too, especially in the EU. That's just what I allow myself to have an opinion on. After all I have learned about the 'nobleness' of Western democracy in my youth, it is highly bizarre to see this happening in front of our eyes.
More argumentation only leads to more confusion and antagonism. A shift in consciousness is what's needed. But the survival instincts are already starting to take over and things are running their course.
There's lots of good stuff happening as well, don't get me wrong: Spiritual healing and understanding is on the rise, Bitcoin, Nostr, open source freedom tools and community-building are on the move ... but the divide and confusion sometimes is sickening.
Keep your heart, mind and body healthy and sane out there. Be free 🧡

Our human body is much more than just binary biological code, because our DNA can apparently adapt to expanded states of consciousness and with it tune into ever more frequencies of 'reality' .... which purely mechanically run hardware cannot.
Have a look at Gregg Braden's book "Pure Human" and the many podcasts where he goes into this (Joe Rogan, Andre Duqum etc). He's a geologist and software engineer himself.
But I agree with you, with the technology underway + spiritual awakening of more people than so far in our known human history, aging way past 100 gracefully looks very possible.
If we only knew what to do with the gift of living longer ;)

What it takes to replace those sticky Google/Apple/Microsoft multi-device workspaces with privacy-focused, open source apps without giving up on convenience (for a single user on Android, Linux, Windows):
- Contacts and Calendar: EteSync with Etar, Fossify Contacts, Thunderbird
- Notes: Joplin
- Tasks and project management: Super Productivity
- Office Suite: OpenOffice, OnlyOffice, AndrOpen Office amd a portable SSD
