I'm still unable to get in. Is there anyone who can help a newbie?

2026-10-09 15:04:06 UTC

What are the popups on Amythest asking me to login?

2026-10-07 15:50:36 UTC

Still can't get my receive wallet to work on Alby hub so I had to switch back to Primal to receive zaps. Will have to dig into that another day.

Hi Scott. Curious to hear what kind of reaction you got?

Any news on this? I just uninstalled, downloaded from zapstore, and tried again.

I review changes, save changes, and it says checking your account with a spinning wheel, then it just goes back to same screen as before.

Trying it out. I signed in with Amber and it seemed to work but I can't get past the profile edit/save step?

Ok so much to learn!

Oh I will look at that. I also refreshed Primal's relay list and that seemed to add a lot more people. I don't know what a connection string is but the issue for Amythest was the Alby lightning channel had auto closed which makes the wallet empty and zaps don't work. I hadn't remembered how I set it up in the first place, so I had to learn about Alby all over again.

I guess I need technical help with nostr after trying this out for a while. Primal is pretty easy to use, but I don't see everyone on there? I set up Amythest and Alby a while back but Amythest is buggy. Like if I don't use it for a few days I get weird popups and the wallet seems to disconnect or lose the settings I gave it. Is there an easier way for the casual user? Thank you.

Looking forward to this series. We're hosting a small conference in the SF Bay Area, also getting back to basics. We'd love to have come do a bitcoin 101 there! Nov 6-7. Cheers.

A great opportunity to connect IRL with the Bitcoin community before we say goodbye to 2026!

What to feel as a bitcoiner right now? It occurs to me that what I feel is survivor's guilt since I wasn't using coldcard. Perhaps some OGs who have experienced a low like this can help with the long-term view.

Took a long break from the book writing for personal travel/vacation. Hoping to kickstart my process again on Monday and stay focused on the book through July and August. I would love to have a draft to give to early readers at that point!

Fyi you can look merchants up directly with https://btcmap.org/. Hopefully some will get added in your area at some point.

In my long book-writing journey, one of the things I have enjoyed is connecting with at least some non-bitcoin writers and authors. The obstacles and solutions cross over and I get fresh momentum. Having a support community really helps!

These days my daily writing is a lot more like a journal. Reflections on experiences, things on my mind, and not anything intended to be published. And I do this with pen and notebook, not typed. Inevitably, it still ends up being a lot about Bitcoin stuff!

GM! Just sent you a DM. Did you get it? I want to help promote your event next month if I can, although unfortunately I can't attend.

A lot of my thought lately has been on feeling good enough already and not really needing to prove myself with a product or business just bc it seems like I'm supposed to.

Taking small steps to build momentum on my book again! I remembered I have a Scrivener license so I imported my draft (~35,000 words) and started cleaning it up. So much better that trying to manage it with google docs. #writers

Still new to all this. Primal was not loading the feed consistently so now I'm trying Amethyst. Successfuly set up the Alby ln wallet with some effort but now I can zap here too.
