⚡️🚨 NEW - A crypto company has just lost more than $500,000 after scammers cloned its work WhatsApp group… and replaced all of its colleagues with imposters.
The incident took place in Hong Kong. The hackers first took control of the WhatsApp account of an employee at a company specializing in crypto trading.
They then blocked his real contacts and recreated his work group exactly as it was, copying its name, photo, and the participants’ profiles.
Once the trap was set, the scammers posed as a regular client and requested a crypto conversion.
The employee, convinced he was chatting with his usual contacts, sent the funds to the specified wallet. It wasn’t until he noticed that the real client’s account didn’t have the necessary balance that he made a phone call… and discovered the scam.
More than 440,000 € were stolen.
Hong Kong police have recorded more than 150 WhatsApp account hijackings in just two weeks, resulting in losses of over 15 million HKD.

⚡️🇫🇷💩👮‍♂️ FUN FACT - Police officers in Lyon were targeted with “CACATOVS”—containers filled with feces and urine that had been left to sit for several weeks—during a high school student protest. “The smell was awful. It’s humiliating. We hadn’t seen anything like this in a few years; it was a surprise to see it again,” said a police officer. These projectiles pose a risk of contamination, especially if their contents come into contact with an officer’s mouth or eyes.
On social media, users are calling for people to make and bring them to the protest this Saturday, October 17.

⚡️🤖 NEW - An OpenAI AI system used funds from an Ethereum wallet that did not belong to it… and then completed its task without saying a word.
The incident, disclosed by OpenAI, occurred during a programming task.
The agent was tasked with deploying smart contracts on Sepolia, an Ethereum test network, but did not have a funded wallet. It then generated 362 addresses from publicly available recovery phrases until it found a wallet containing sufficient funds.
The AI questioned the legitimacy of its own action before concluding that the funds were “effectively abandoned” since the key was public.
It then signed a transaction, used the funds to pay the fees, and completed its task without revealing their source.
It’s important to note that this involved test ETH, which has no market value on the mainnet.

⚡️⚠️ WARNING - Hackers are now exploiting the Ledger incident to launch a new scam aimed at emptying your crypto wallets.
While millions of dollars were recently stolen from physically tampered Ledger devices, scammers are now capitalizing on users’ panic.
SlowMist is warning about a fake security update campaign that uses Ledger’s official visual branding to appear completely legitimate.
Victims receive a message stating that an urgent update is needed to protect their device from spyware.
The fake process displays the various Ledger models, an authenticity check, and an “Update Now” button, giving the impression of a genuine security procedure.
Never initiate an update from a link received via email, and never enter your recovery phrase on a website or computer.
A genuine update is performed through the official Ledger app.

⚡️🚘 NEW - Tesla unveiled its next-generation Roadster, a literal flying car, with SpaceX-built cold-gas thrusters and a suction system that let it drive upside down and flip over.
The car comes in three versions, with the top “Rocket” trim claiming 0–60 mph in under 0.59 seconds, a top speed above 230 mph, and limited flight capability, though it won’t be road-legal.
Other features include active aerodynamics, steer-by-wire and a design inspired by the SR-71 and F-35.
Tesla claims a range of over 300 miles across versions, and production is targeted for 2028.
Full pricing hasn’t been announced.
Musk called it “the best of the last of the human-driven cars.”

The service lets users take snapshots of websites and access them later, even if the original page gets deleted or changed. It’s often used by journalists, researchers and people who want to preserve information online.
The block was ordered through Spain’s Intellectual Property Commission under the country’s copyright enforcement system. Authorities claim the service facilitates access to copyrighted material.
The affected domains include archivetoday, archiveis, archiveph, archiveli, archivemd, archivefo and archivevn.

⚡️👀 ICYMI - The theoretical risk with marketplaces has existed for years: someone can buy a device, modify it or preconfigure it, and then attempt to put it back into circulation via a product return.
Back in 2018, Ledger had already issued an official warning about devices being resold after being preconfigured by a third party with a seed phrase already known to the scammer.
The victim thought they were using a “new” wallet, sent their crypto there… and then the attacker could drain it remotely since they already had the 24 words.

⚡️🚨 ALERT - Ledger hardware wallet implants were discovered over a year before this week's supply-chain attack revelations
Renowned hardware security researcher and computer engineer Joe Grand, also known as “Kingpin,” explains how he was contacted in August 2025 by a man in Thailand who had discovered a compromised Ledger Nano X.
The man had purchased a cheap Ledger online to replace the battery in his existing device.
When he opened it, he discovered a smaller battery, unauthorized circuitry, additional wiring, and an antenna.
After posting his discovery on Reddit and reportedly receiving little interest from local police, he contacted Grand to investigate.
The discovery came more than a year before the Ledger supply-chain attack became a major public controversy, with nearly $100 million in cryptocurrency reportedly stolen this week.

⚡️🇬🇧👮‍♂️ NEW - The United Kingdom has just frozen a London penthouse worth nearly $12 million belonging to the alleged CFO of a scam empire linked to… $14 billion in Bitcoin.
The apartment, located on the 13th floor near St. James’s Park with a view of Buckingham Palace, belongs to Thet Li, 39.
British authorities describe him as a “key lieutenant” of the Prince Group and as the man who managed its international financial network.
But this penthouse is only part of the targeted assets; the United Kingdom is also seeking to maintain the seizure of 10.6 million pounds worth of watches and jewelry, as well as 92,570 pounds in cash.
Other London properties linked to the Prince Group have also been frozen, including a £12 million villa and a £100 million office building.
In this case, the United States is seeking to confiscate approximately $14 billion in Bitcoin linked to the Prince Group, which is accused of operating massive scam operations in Southeast Asia.

⚡️👀 NEW - Some users suggest weighing your hardware wallet to get an initial indication of a possible implant inside by comparing the weight to the manufacturer’s official specifications.
This can help identify an obvious anomaly, but BEWARE of the lists circulating online, as some values are incorrect or confuse the weight with and without the battery or accessories.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, a “normal” weight in no way proves that a device is secure; it’s mainly an initial clue if the weight is incorrect.

⚡️🚨 NEW - The Ledger case may no longer be limited to Asia; someone has reported a new, potentially compromised device that was reportedly purchased just a few weeks ago from an official retailer in Europe.
The photos show a Nano X containing several extra cables that are not present in a normal device.
The setup more closely resembles older versions of implants discovered by researchers than the newer models hidden behind the screen.
Unlike the Asian victims, this wallet reportedly never sent funds to the attackers’ identified addresses.
The implant may therefore have failed, never been activated… or simply been lying in wait.
If this European report is verified, the case would take on an entirely new scale.

⚡️🚨 NEW - More than $86 million has reportedly already been stolen from Ledger users who purchased their devices from the reseller CryptoBilis in Southeast Asia.
Ledger is currently investigating several reports of lost funds and has asked CryptoBilis to immediately suspend all sales and shipments of its devices.
For now, the company states that the reports pertain to this specific reseller and that the exact cause of the incident has not yet been officially determined.
Ledger recommends that anyone who has purchased a device from CryptoBilis in the last 90 days should not set it up if it has not already been set up.
For those who have already used it, the company advises considering transferring their assets to a new wallet using a brand-new recovery phrase.
More than $86 million has reportedly already been stolen from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron, according to an on-chain investigator.
This amount has not yet been confirmed by Ledger, but if the estimate proves accurate, the case could become one of the most significant incidents ever linked to a hardware wallet’s distribution chain.

⚡️🤖📖 NEW - A woman was using Claude as a diary. A message was detected by Anthropic, read by a human team… and then forwarded to the police...
According to the arrest report, Carli Michelle Heller, a woman from Bonita Springs, Florida, allegedly wrote on September 26 that she was going to attack the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The next day, the same account reportedly indicated that she had obtained a new weapon.
Anthropic’s security systems reportedly detected these messages and triggered a human review.
The woman reportedly explained that she used the AI “like a diary.” But unlike a real diary, a conversation with Claude can be reviewed when it triggers certain security measures.
This possibility is provided for in Anthropic’s rules: the company states that it may share data with authorities when it believes in good faith that doing so is necessary to prevent a serious risk.

The company admits the watermarks are "often undetectable, especially in short passages," and that rewriting or translating can remove them completely.
Only approved researchers get the detector.

⚡️🚨 NEW - Polymarket reportedly failed to detect a massive $10 million fraud attempt on its U.S. platform.
According to an investigation by The Wall Street Journal, fraudsters allegedly used stolen debit cards to fund Polymarket accounts, place bets, and then attempt to withdraw the money to “clean” cards or accounts.
At one point, more than 80% of deposits processed by its payment processor, Checkout_com, were reportedly flagged as fraudulent—compared to the industry average of about 1%.
The most explosive aspect concerns the internal handling of the incident. According to employees, CEO Shayne Coplan reportedly instructed the company to continue prioritizing growth despite compliance warnings, even if it meant “paying a fine” later.
Polymarket disputes the claim that it ignored its obligations and asserts that it has since strengthened its anti-fraud controls and compliance management.
The matter doesn’t end there: another breach that occurred in July reportedly compromised nearly 500 accounts.

⚡️🇬🇷👮‍♂️ NEW - They promised to double your money in just 50 days using cryptocurrencies.
Greek police have dismantled a network that allegedly recruited at least 10,000 people.
According to authorities, the group used an investment platform promising very high returns with little or no risk. Investors were also encouraged to recruit new participants in exchange for commissions, a mechanism typical of a pyramid scheme.
Approximately $8 million is believed to have passed through the platform. Seventeen people have been arrested, and nine others are named in the case.
During the raids, police say they seized 295,090 euros, 32 cell phones, 21 laptops, 15 tablets, and numerous storage devices.

⚡️💬 FLASH - I’m going to be honest and share my thoughts on the Nostr ecosystem, specifically the apps I’ve tried.
@nprofile…pcd3 : 6/10. It lets me see all my notifications, but overall, I don’t like the user interface or the font used.
@nprofile…vnlh : 5/10. It lets me read secure private messages, but the app is generally slow, which ruins the user experience. You have to tap twice to like a post, and the name needs to be changed—I think it’s very poorly chosen.
@nprofile…54wh : 7/10. This is the app I use the most—it's the fastest—but its development is very slow: you have to wait nearly a year before you can add GIFs. Plus, adding the "Read" category to the bottom bar is pointless: in two years, I've never read a single "read."
@nprofile…fvca : 4/10. The design is gorgeous. But the app is still just a prototype—or even unusable. It's IMPOSSIBLE to delete the wallet, and the app is extremely slow.
@nprofile…668f : 4/10. I can't find anything good about it. Overall, it's inferior in every way, and I don't like the ergonomics.
@nprofile…fynw : 8/10. This is the best web app: I can split the screen in half and keep track of my notifications while scrolling through my news feed. It's really too bad there isn't a mobile app.
@nprofile…w524 : 2/10. I haven't used that interface since 2024–2025. I hated the color scheme and the interface.
@nprofile…s096 : ?/10. Unfortunately, I can't comment on this because I've never tried it. The app is available exclusively on Android.
I encourage all of you to keep up the good work and listen to user feedback. Now, with Claude and cie, I think we’ll see some great things in the future.
