I'm getting way more side projects done now (in addition to accomplishing way more during my day job); I am also leaving a wake of half finished projects. I was just looking through my recent projects and saw a simple game I worked on that is a clone of dr. mario world battles. I got it like 75% done and then abandoned it to start other projects 😆 . I've released two small games this year. I'm currently working on an update to an old open source game I maintain. I also started a more complex game that I am aiming to release in Q1. And that's just in my spare time. And my spare time is quite limited because I am married and have two kids 😆

I think it's amazing that people can create things without personally knowing how to code. Right now I can still create things that are technologically better designed than an ai alone, but in a few years that might not be true anymore. In five years poking and prodding technical designs might just be a waste of time and tokens.

Yeah, I know these tools can commit to git without intervention, which is nice. I usually prefer to do the git commits myself though. I did recently have cursor edit some local commits for me. I had accidentally committed a local password and I wanted to purge it before pushing.

I've become very documentation centric with ai. I have it write all the documentation first. I only have it write code when I am happy with the docs. I've gotten great results this way, and I have great documentation when I am finished.
