Saw hello to MSP_bot (npub1lll…7eul)!! If you make a feed with MSP 2.0 (npub10z4…x7l3) and add me as a split all of your boost will be sent to nostr with this bot.

This is very early but its part of what Chad and Reeds Podcast (candr) (npub1tjm…jv95) is doing to send PC 2.0 Boost to Nostr so things like onlyboosts.social (or any app) can collect them and build discovery tools with it.

Heres a sample post to show what it currently looks like in a nostr feed.

Thanks everyone for helping me build out MSP.

Question for people using musicsideproject.com.

I'm working on another project to send all boost data for PC 2.0 apps to Nostr even if the app doesn't support Nostr. Example - someone is listening to Homegrown Hits in curiocaster that doesn't do Nostr and they play your track and someone Boost it. I could take the payment info I'm getting from the split you send me and post that to Nostr.

Since most of y'all are adding me as a split anyway and this is how the service works would you like that to also be part of the split you already send MSP?

I want to ask since this if your data and I don't want to share it if you don't want me too.

This stuff would show up here Boostr_Bot (nprofile…t358) and sites like onlyboosts.social.

This is all to get more data on Nostr so people can build cool stuff and theres some cool tunes out there waiting to be heard.

Want to self-host your music on a RSS feed but not sure where to start? I just made a quick video of how to do it with musicsideproject.com and the $18/year nostr.build (npub1nxy…avr7) plan. The video below is even hosted on there.

Two things not covered at the end are how to know if your music is on podcastindex.org. It takes a few minutes for it to get added so I didn't want the video to just be me waiting. When it's on podcastindex the podcastindex logo in the bar at the bottom will turn green and when clicked take you to the podcastindex where you'll see all your info.

Then your stuff will show up on things like Fountain, v4vmusic.com or boostmebitch.com

Any questions just reach out.

PS thanks to everyone thats been helping me test this out over the past few months. Its been a lot of fun and I've learned a lot more about how this stuff works under the hood.

Sorry about the confusion. You want to download the xml and host it with your art and audio like you said then take whatever url that is and paste that into the podping section at the bottom to update it on podcastindex.org so apps can see it.

Also I see a feed you saved to MSP Hosting and the art doesnt seem to be showing up and I get and error when I go to the url for art but the audio is fine.

Your split for thrummingdream571293@getalby.com is set to 0 also so your not getting anything.

Everything else look good.

cool, its an easy fix and you have 2 options.

Option 1 - go to new.musicsideproject.com, import your feed (you can paste the url), the site will fix the issue, save the new feed and switch it with the old one.

Option 2 - In your feed you need to replace

<podcast:value type="lightning" method="keysend">
<podcast:valueRecipient name="Music Side Project" type="node" address="035ad2c954e264004986da2d9499e1732e5175e1dcef2453c921c6cdcc3536e9d8" split="1"/>
<podcast:valueRecipient name="gless" type="node" address="gless@coinos.io" split="99"/>
</podcast:value>

with

<podcast:value type="lightning" method="lnaddress">
<podcast:valueRecipient name="Music Side Project" type="node" address="035ad2c954e264004986da2d9499e1732e5175e1dcef2453c921c6cdcc3536e9d8" split="1"/>
<podcast:valueRecipient name="gless" type="lnaddress" address="gless@coinos.io" split="99"/>
</podcast:value>

basically keysend needs to be lnaddress and node also needs to be lnaddress.

The MSP 1% split is also going to the old maintainer of the site which is fine with me but if you want to change it to me then make it this.

<podcast:value type="lightning" method="lnaddress">
<podcast:valueRecipient name="MSP 2.0" type="lnaddress" address="chadf@getalby.com" split="1"/>
<podcast:valueRecipient name="gless" type="lnaddress" address="gless@coinos.io" split="99"/>
</podcast:value>

Hope thats not too confusing and I'll double check everything again when you change it.

I've been just playing around with ways to post or host stuff on Nostr and that NIP was me making an RSS based music playlist and posting that to nostr. I guess a nostr app could grab it and make that playlist in there app but they would have to be pulling stuff from podcastindex.org to know whats in it.

I think this is the fork but this is just something i threw out there and dont even know if its correct.

https://nostrhub.io/naddr1qvzqqqrcvypzpauj9g9dk0aymkj7aj4x9ahhaes4nal4tcyqxe5xc68qswpvx3ugqyf8wumn8ghj7ur0v36xzunywvhxxmmdqqsx6atnd93j6urvv9ukc6tnw3ej6amfw35z6urr95erqtt8w45kguctmf44j

I've worked on cross referencing between RSS and Nostr a little bit but was waiting for some more people to upload to Nostr before I did more.

New Music Nudge Unit (npub1ztz…7zxv) did upload these from my site today to RSS and Nostr so were getting there. He entered the info into the site and I built the RSS feed and the Nostr events for him.

There is an option in the "save" menu to send the PodPing and there is also a button at the bottom to do it. It should auto populate your feed if available or you just paste it in and hit send.

nostria (npub16x7…a44x) and Sunami (npub1tp4…3c7a) how are you guys handling deletions for Nostr Music? I have a Publish to Nostr Music option in MSP 2.0 (npub10z4…x7l3) that New Music Nudge Unit (npub1ztz…7zxv) is helping me test and I'm just curious how well it works?

I'm using NIP-09 to send the deletion events but they are just request after all.

I'm not so worried about it being deleted from all relays but if sites like yours have music it would be nice if it actually got deleted.

Also do you guys handle splits yet? That also came up as Aaron and I were chatting about this stuff.

I know you guys also allow people to upload on your sites but Aaron is using MSP 2.0 for his RSS feeds so him being able to hit "Publish to Nostr Music" from the same site would save him and others a ton of time and allow them to use one site for it all. Basically I just take the info a user enters in the UI and map it to the Nostr Music stuff like I do when building a RSS feed. Its all the same data after all. We need to build the tools before we can make them easier but easier usually means giving up some control.

My goal is to make the best RSS music feed generator for people to use while trying out some other ideas along the way.

We're going to break a lot of stuff along the way but that's half the fun and this stuff doesn't build itself.

Thank you to the few artists making feeds and helping me test. o7

RSS has publisher feeds that is one feed that list all of your feeds. Wavlake does these and thats why other RSS based apps can make you cool pages. Your host (wavlake) handles all of these feeds for you and that gets submitted to podcastindex so other apps can use this info.

How do different RSS host and Nostr all get tied together? I dont know but seeing new stuff being built is very exciting.

Made some updates to the site thanks to recommendations from Øystein Berge (npub12x5…egp4) and Matt Finlay (npub12zn…6yg6).

The add recipient button is now a drop-down that has Blank, MSP 2.0 and podcastindex.org listed in-case you want to add either as a split.

When you paste the URL for your track I now fetch the tracks length and show a preview player so you can double check that its the right track. I also removed the file size box since its harder to fetch and might now be needed. (defaults to 33 for anyone checking the feeds.

Save modal now has a link to the "add" page on podcastindex,org. I want to add support to do this on the site but for now just follow the link and paste the feeds url there.

Adding PI is also a good idea. This will all just be a list you can pick from that adds the info so you don't have to look it up.
