Earlier today, ARIN fulfilled our request for an IPv4 /22 via their IPv4 Waiting List. We now own the following IP space:

2602:F4D9::/36
23.149.124.0/24
23.149.125.0/24
206.220.120.0/22

Our initial 2x IPv4 /24 were quickly obtained via NRPM 4.10 for our ns1 and ns2 anycast DNS.

      We need the person who recently sent a 1000 EUR donation via Wise to contact us via email with their full name so we can get Wise to unfreeze the payment. We regularly run into this issue with Wise but it's usually for small donations such as a 5 EUR one which got returned today.

      We have a partial port of GrapheneOS to the Pixel 11 series after a week of work on it. We're unable to complete the port due to lack of support for ARM hardware memory tagging in software, firmware and near certainly hardware. It appears Google cut an important security feature to save money.

We pointed to the Motorola Signature (2026), Razr Fold (2026) and Razr Ultra (2026) as an example of what's coming. The current Signature is the predecessor to the upcoming device we're working on them with and we should be able to support the horizontal and vertical folding flagships with very similar hardware to that afterwards.

It will take longer for lower end devices to be supported. The initial devices will be more expensive than most Pixels but it will end up supporting devices in a similar price range as Pixels including the 'a' series devices over time.

We've resolved the main regressions reported to us already. We'll start builds for a 2nd public release based on 17 later today after a few more fixes.

      We built an initial release of GrapheneOS based on Android 17 (2026061700) but aren't going to release it through our Alpha channel due to discovering a serious upstream bug. Android 17 broke support for sideloading updates via recovery unless the OS images are large enough to exhaust COW space.

Their auto-moderation configuration removes any comment or post containing the word GrapheneOS which is why it's not directly mentioned in a single comment. This post only slipped through because they aren't going as far as using OCR and AI to detect people discussing GrapheneOS yet. That's why some people in the thread are saying Graphite instead. It's ridiculous that they ban saying it.

See https://grapheneos.org/features#exploit-protection for partial coverage of what it provides. A remote exploit written for Android won't be usable with GrapheneOS in practice. They'd need to find additional / different vulnerabilities and overcome stronger defenses to attack GrapheneOS due to the defenses it adds.

Whether you use a FreeBSD device or a GrapheneOS device, needing to have an unmodified iOS or Google Mobile Services Android device to pass checks for accessing banking and government services or now to pass certain reCAPTCHA checks is still going to be an issue.

      Brazil's authoritarian age verification law became active this month. It won't be implemented by GrapheneOS. Complying would require integrating a mandatory process for each user where a third party service checks government identification and confirms a match using the camera.

We're going to work on fixing it but we can't guarantee it will work long term. We need an open source RCS app and it's not really clear how open RCS is to having alternate implementations. It's hard to see that as simply being openly allowed when Google Messages is mainly failing due to privileged verification checks it wants to do.

      We're going to be moving forward under the expectation that future Pixel devices may not meet the requirements to run GrapheneOS (https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-devices) and may not support using another OS. We've been in talks with a couple OEMs about making devices and what it would cost.
