I was giving a guest lecture there last month. Never been to Aus Monash, but Malaysian Monash is up to international standard. But standards have been slipping everywhere, so take that as ypu will.

Not so sure about the variety of course offerings, I'm guessing it's less because Malaysian Monash is a private university and has to offer courses that it can profit from.

The Malaysian Government is looking into adopting Regenerative Agriculture for food security purposes. Looks like the high price of inputs is the inflection point. Even some palm oil companies are beginning to make the shift and experimenting. But the main challenge is supplying the expertise to do it. Implementation is going to be a challenge.

I thought it was one of the best Iron Man movies and it was quite divisive when it came out. You either hated it or loved it. But it was a self-contained send off to the pre-Avenger Iron man and after that he took off as "Iron Man leader of the Avengers". So Marvel fans just don't talk about it. I've been thinking about how pollinators fuel a whole ecosystem of predators. They're pretty to look at and all, but the sheer volume of bees that move around flowering patches mean that there is a constant stable food source to sustain insectivore predator populations. That's the principle behind companion planting, but I'm not sure if there has been any ecological studies mapping out these interactions. (Maybe there is and I haven't dug deep enough into the literature)

I think using "The West" as a frame actually obscures what happened with postcolonialism in an economic sense. What's going on in Europe is very different from the Americas.

I'm in a global south postcolonial country, and we have adopted the same extractivist imperialist policies. Just applied to our own countries and near neighbours. The power structures of colonialism still exist, Postcolonialism was just the local elite seizing colonial power.

But after TLJ I was done with Star Wars. It reminded me too much of the long draggy overstuffed Prequels. At that point Star Wars had so many misses that I gave up on the franchise.
