A painting that causes a modern who assumes "sexy Halloween" is a new trope to go "hey, wait a minute..." 😀

Not from 2026, nor 2006, nor even 1926, but *1878*. "Witches going to their Sabbath", by Luis Ricardo Falero.

Huh, I went into paint dot net, tried out the ink-sketch-ize feature, and so help me, this shot of the George Washington Bridge I took *finally* looks like it captured the vibe I was feeling that day driving through Manhattan. Zoom in and all the little lines and colors are *so* much fun just to look at. New York just seems to have that quality to it...

"Create and Control Your Own Urban Empire". The SimCity 3000 CD case said it, but there are only a few places in real life you can *feel* that energy, one of which is the incomparable Manhattan. A piece of digital art based on a photo of an iconic building, taken by me.

As many in Europe have recently experienced, nothing *truly* compares to the wonder of totality, but so help me, annular "eclipses" are extremely cool as well. Yes, those are the images of the sun filtering through the leaves, but they're not crescents: they're *rings*.

Captured by me in 2023 in Odessa, Texas, during my first (but hopefully not last!) time under the "ring of fire"...

We've been under an extreme heat advisory in California, and it...still cools down to comfortable weather right after sunset? I can sit outside most of the day in the breeze? No bugs bite me alive 24/7? I can actually breathe outside? Western climate is *absurdly* forgiving.

Photo is from me, on Santa Monica Beach (famous for "good weather", but even deep inland it's easy mode, NGL...).
