That is the stated trust assumption.
Not trustless, and the post does not claim it is.

Let it and the alternatives evolve. Our job is to keep our eyes open and assess the risks.

      In reply to nevent1q…dgsg
_________________________

The data-availability dependency is real and worth stating exactly, so let's state it.

Operators never hold your key and can't move funds without your signature - that part is unconditional. Unilateral exit works through pre-signed refund txs that pay to a key only you control, and those txs plus their ancestors are the "leaf data" in question: your device co-signs them at claim time, ancestors come from a query. Until a wallet persists that data, forcing your funds on-chain depends on operator liveness. Grubles is right that no wallet ships this today. That gap is the entire reason I built and published this tooling instead of just claiming "non-custodial" in marketing copy.

What the dependency actually is, once you persist the data:

Bounded: everything covered by your last refresh exits without any operator, forever. Exposure is only what changed since then. With refresh wired into every claim, that window is one transaction.
Detectable: withholding means your refresh fails right after your claim succeeded. You notice, you stop receiving, you exit with what you have. - Compare a custodian, where withholding looks like normal operation until the withdrawal freeze.
So on the spectrum: weaker than Lightning, where your node holds channel state by construction. Much stronger than custodial, where they hold both keys and data and you detect nothing. "Self-custody of keys with a bounded, detectable data-availability dependency" is the honest label.

Wallets that don't manage that dependency for users are shipping the weak end of the spectrum. Mine included, today. That is what is being fixed, and the case study is the receipt that the exit half already works:

https://github.com/blinkbitcoin/spark-unilateral-exit/blob/main/docs/mainnet-exit-case-study.md

I just force-exited a non-custodial Blink wallet (using Spark) on Bitcoin mainnet.
Seed only - no operator cooperation: recovery bundle, fee funding, CPFP signing and sweep all derived from the wallet seed.

The honest numbers for a 100k sat wallet:
• 22 leaves, 253 tx packages to exit fully
• only 4 leaves (90% of the value) were worth exiting - fees would have eaten the other18
• ~9.4k sats in fees to recover 90.1k, one package per block per chain, then a ~2-week timelock

Non-custodial means you can always leave. https://am-i.exposed is interesting, but if not using it in the Tor Browser, it must be connected to your own node.

Can do both on a Raspiblitz already:
https://github.com/raspiblitz/raspiblitz/pull/5258
(test onion site hidden in the PR description)

Great work Arkad (nprofile…na46) and Copexit!

quoting
nevent1q…vsnd
Do you know what your Bitcoin transactions reveal? https://am-i.exposed shows you. It's an on-chain privacy scanner that analyzes addresses and transactions. 🧵

Born to fill the gap left by OXT (http://oxt.me) and KYCP (http://kycp.org). Similar tools that disappeared in 2024.

It works 100% client-side. No backend, no tracking. Paste an address or txid and get a 0-100 score with specific findings. And if you have Umbrel, you can use this app from your node.

The engine implements more than 30 heuristics that evaluate the on-chain privacy of your transactions and addresses. It includes labels for 30 million addresses from more than 650 entities.

What can you analyze?

• A transaction (txid)
• An address
• An entire wallet (xpub/descriptor)
• A PSBT before signing (to evaluate your privacy before broadcasting the transaction)

When you do a search, you get the privacy score, transaction graph with inputs, outputs and deterministic links, and a main recommendation. If you choose Cypherpunk mode you have much more to analyze, such as fingerprints, visual tracking like OXT.

Transaction Entropy is obtained thanks to Boltzmann analysis, which has been adapted to analyze beyond 12-input x 12-output transactions.

What does it detect?

• Round amounts that reveal payment vs change
• Address reuse
• Consolidations that link your UTXOs
• Wallet fingerprints (nLockTime, nVersion, BIP69...)
• Dust attacks
• Peel chains
• Proximity to known entities

It detects the 3 major CoinJoin protocols:

• Whirlpool (5 equal outputs)
• WabiSabi (20+ I/O)
• JoinMarket (maker/taker)

And most importantly: it analyzes your POST-CoinJoin behavior to see if you undid the privacy you just gained.

Not just numbers. Interactive visualizations:

• Sankey flow diagram with Boltzmann overlay
• Link probability heatmap
• OXT-style explorable graph (expand, collapse, trace)
• Coin Join structure...

Languages:

🇬🇧 English (default)
🇪🇸 Spanish
🇵🇹 Portuguese
🇩🇪 German
🇫🇷 French

Networks: Mainnet, Testnet4, Signet

There are many "easter eggs" hidden in the app that will be discovered with use. If you don't know much, use "newbie" mode and if you want to go deeper you have Cypherpunk mode.

Am-I.exposed is in an experimental phase, developing day by day. We hope many users join to develop this open source project. You can propose new features or report bugs at https://github.com/Copexit/am-i-exposed

Research and acknowledgments

The goal is that with this tool:

• You learn to use Bitcoin giving away the minimum possible information to third parties
• You review some errors in your transactions and can fix them
• We make chain observers' assumptions more difficult

The tool can be used by agents. Here are the instructions on how to do it: https://am-i.exposed/agents/

Will our wallets have complex algorithms in the future to make our transactions more ambiguous?

https://am-i.exposed/welcome/

Dedicated to the Samourai wallet devs, Keonne and William, currently imprisoned for developing Bitcoin privacy tools. We are eternally grateful for everything learned. This goes to them.

Copexit and Arkad

YES and NO for short.

The first leaf is a 2 of 2 multisig of both parties. This exists to be able to self send the UTXO AFTER BIP 444 activates. This is because BIP-444 just added a clause that UTXOs created before activation will NOT have the BIP-444 consensus rules applied to them. This self send removes that exception.

The second leaf: has 2 ways you can spend with it, a 2 of 2 (YES and NO) multisig, just like the first leaf OR the NO party, with a time lock which is LESS THAN the third tap leaf. This is important because it uses OP_NOTIF

The Third Leaf: The YES party can spend, after a time lock AFTER the second leaf.

The order of the timelocks is important. If BIP-444 activates, the spending condition that can spend before you will be consensus invalid, so it doesn't matter if you believe 444 activates.

So to summarize:

- If BIP-444 DOES activate, the party who believes it will be able to use the second tap leaf to get 2 BTC out.
- If BIP-444 DOES NOT activate, the party who believes that will use the third tap leaf to get 2 BTC out.

Since each side is highly confident in their position, the fair market price is a 1:1 ratio, implying 50% likelihood.

With 85 days until activation, this contract as written gives you an implied ~430% APY on your bitcoin! The risk is being incorrect on your opinion of BIP-444 activating.

You could modify the collateral each side puts up to get different implied odds of the futures contract as well.

Github: https://github.com/Rob1Ham/BIP-444-Futures
Address: https://mempool.space/signet/address/tb1p07flh4waghmkeep0l20nf2tyn4tw9wy3w4j5vkrf6mue9ddtakgsgc5clr

Anyone who wants to take the BIP-444 WILL activate side, let me know! The Author of the BIP has agreed to this, I have already asked for a larger bet size beyond the 1 BTC I initially proposed, but I have more!

Take a step back and think through how the rules of Bitcoin are coming to be.
This article provides valuable insight with a fresh perspective on the topic: https://pretyflaco.github.io/bitcoingovernance/

quoting
nevent1q…mg0v
https://pretyflaco.github.io/bitcoingovernance/

🧵 I published my perspective on Bitcoin governance.

Where does Bitcoin derive its censorship-resistance from? And how do we preserve it?

Sharing some frameworks I've found helpful 👇

The main insight: Bitcoin's unique value comes from censorship-resistance, and the two magic ingredients to achieve it are:

✅ Free users
✅ Free software

-> Censorship-resistance requires free users
-> Free users require free software

Traditional governance asks "who decides?"

These systems are easy to co-opt and can therefore never preserve censorship-resistance.

Bitcoin governance asks "how do we preserve free users?", and this is they key to preserving censorship-resistance.

For developers, this means:

-> Optimize for user agency
-> Default to user choice over "optimal" outcomes

Remember: we're building infrastructure for freedom.

These are just my current thoughts - governance philosophy evolves with experience - but it's clear to me that censorship-resistance is a derivative of free users.

There is a leap of faith required in bitcoin’s governance model.

We must trust that when users are given genuine freedom and access to good information, they will make choices that preserve what makes bitcoin valuable.

Users who want bitcoin to remain censorship-resistant will choose software and rules that maintain that property.

Users who prefer other properties may make different choices, but the network’s evolution will reflect the aggregate of all these individual decisions.

When we take the leap and trust that free users will make the right choices, Bitcoin succeeds.

I would love to hear perspectives from builders, users, and researchers working on or thinking about these problems.

      In reply to nevent1q…wl88
_________________________

I appreciate the detailed response, but in these points we are in disagreement:

1. Policing your node vs. "the network": Framing this as only policing your own node overlooks the network externalities. Your filtering directly impacts the efficiency of block propagation for your peers. It turns an individual policy choice into a network-wide cost.

2. Your definition on what transactions should be allowed: The proposed definition of "spam" is not a filtering policy; it's an argument for a hard fork. The current Bitcoin consensus explicitly allows these transactions, and has for years. To enforce your narrow definition network-wide, you would need to change the fundamental rules of the protocol. This brittle definition would not only freeze Bitcoin's capabilities but would also classify many existing financial tools from multisig to timelocks and covenants as invalid. The arbitrary exception for L2 HTLCs only proves the point: you're not defining spam, you're just green-lighting your preferred use cases.

3. The arms race is asymmetric: This isn't a battle of diligence; it's a battle of economic incentives. There's a powerful financial motive to embed data, but only a weak, ideological one to filter it.

4. You're underestimating steganography: You're focused on overt data, but the real challenge is data hidden within what looks like a perfectly valid financial transaction. A filter cannot distinguish intent. To block it, you'd have to block entire classes of legitimate transactions that are valid under today's consensus, which is a non-starter.

I gladly accept that the fee estimation is robust enough even with a partial view of the mempool.

> Core's strategy to achieve that goal is, I think, worse than the disease: Core's users opt to relay spam transactions as if they were normal transactions, that way they don't have to download them when they show up in blocks.

The choice isn't between a cure and a disease (purity vs. efficiency), but about upholding network neutrality. The Core policy relays any valid transaction that pays the fee, without making a value judgment.
The alternative - active filtering - is a strategic dead end for a few reasons:
- It turns node runners into network police, forcing them to constantly define and redefine what constitutes "spam."
- This leads to an unwinnable arms race. As we've seen throughout Bitcoin's history, the definition of "spam" is a moving target. Data-embedding techniques will simply evolve to bypass the latest filters.
- The logical endgame defeats the purpose. The ultimate incentive for those embedding data is to make their transactions technically indistinguishable from "normal" financial ones, rendering the entire filtering effort futile.
I understand that the fee estimation uses past block data and there is an ability to self-correct with RBF/CPFP.

If the concern is not about the initial estimate failing there is still a worse reaction time. If a node is blind to a large segment of the real mempool, wouldn't it be slower to detect a sudden spike in the fee market, potentially causing it to fall behind in a fee-bumping war?

On the other points we are also left with the problem that the network communication is breaking down because more nodes are rejecting the very transactions that miners are confirming in blocks.

Here is the problem visualized:
"In early June we were requesting less than 10kB per block were we needed to request something (about 40-50% of blocks) on average. Currently, we are requesting close to 800kB of transactions on average for 70% (30% of the blocks need no requests) of the blocks."

from this research thread: https://delvingbitcoin.org/t/stats-on-compact-block-reconstructions/1052/34

Unlike Bitcoin, Lightning does not have its own blockchain, so it does not require a consensus mechanism. Instead, it relies on agreed-upon accounting and security guarantees between peers to maintain payment channels.

On the Bitcoin network, consensus rules determine the validity of blocks. While mempool relay policies do not influence these rules, they can fragment mempools and significantly delay full block relay.

Many non-technical and often non-economical participants are misled into believing they can influence consensus rules through relay filters. This is not only inaccurate but also potentially harmful to the network.

Feed the output of one as the input of the other

Here are some of the best tools for combining various LLMs in a pipeline, where the output of one model can be fed as the input to another:

## **1. LangChain**
- LangChain specializes in chaining LLM outputs and inputs through its **Chains** and **Agents**. Chains allow developers to integrate multiple LLMs or components into a pipeline, while Agents enable dynamic decision-making based on user input or intermediate results[3][5].
- Example: Use `SimpleSequentialChain` or `AgentExecutor` to pass outputs between models seamlessly[2][5].

## **2. LM Studio**
- LM Studio supports **model orchestration**, making it ideal for managing workflows involving multiple LLMs. Its customizable API integration allows easy connection between models and services[1].

## **3. Ollama**
- Ollama simplifies workflow orchestration and automates data flow across stages, making it suitable for chaining LLMs for production environments[1].

## **4. MLflow**
- MLflow offers experiment tracking and model versioning, enabling smooth collaboration and monitoring of interactions between multiple LLMs in pipelines[1].

## **5. LlamaIndex**
- LlamaIndex connects LLMs with diverse data sources and supports retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), streamlining complex pipelines that require data-driven LLM interactions[6].

LangChain is particularly popular for its flexibility in chaining outputs and managing complex workflows dynamically.

Citations:
[1] 15 Best LLM Tools for AI Product Development [2025 Guide] https://orq.ai/blog/llm-tools
[2] What's the point of LangChain for chaining LLM outputs if I could just ... https://www.reddit.com/r/LangChain/comments/17rb5zl/whats_the_point_of_langchain_for_chaining_llm/
[3] LangChain for Including AI from LLMs Inside Data Applications https://www.comet.com/site/blog/introduction-to-langchain-for-including-ai-from-large-language-models-llms-inside-data-applications-and-data-pipelines/
[4] Top 9 RAG Tools to Boost Your LLM Workflows https://lakefs.io/rag-tools/
[5] How to Chain Tool Outputs as Inputs in LangChain Tool-Calling Agent https://github.com/langchain-ai/langchain/discussions/28686
[6] 5 Essential Free Tools for Getting Started with LLMs https://www.machinelearningmastery.com/5-essential-free-tools-getting-started-llms/
[7] Top 15 LLMOps Tools for Building AI Applications in 2025 - DataCamp https://www.datacamp.com/blog/llmops-tools
[8] Understanding the Influence of LLM Inputs on Outputs - Shelf.io https://shelf.io/blog/understanding-the-influence-of-llm-inputs-on-outputs/
Docking the device to a keyboard and mouse and external display in the future would allow using your phone like a desktop PC. You get the benefit of running a desktop OS over a device with strong hardware security and a proper secure element unlike a desktop.

Adding this GUI support is also a stage into working towards support for running Apps within GrapheneOS virtual machines for stronger sandboxing and isolation. Additional security.
